Manufacturing & Industrial WHS Documentation

Manufacturing and industrial workplaces — including factories, workshops, fabrication facilities, processing plants, and maintenance operations — are subject to specific obligations under the WHS Regulations. Part 4.2 sets out duties relating to plant and structures, including requirements for guarding, isolation, maintenance, and inspection. Part 7 covers the management of hazardous chemicals, including storage, handling, Safety Data Sheet (SDS) registers, and risk controls for chemical exposure.

These regulatory requirements do not exist in isolation — they need to be embedded within a broader WHS Management System that connects plant isolation procedures, guarding maintenance schedules, chemical management processes, and preventative maintenance programs into a coherent, documented framework.
